noob Q. install 2nd HDD

im running windows xp pro, its installed on a 40 gig hdd and i want to install games, apps etc on an 80 gig western digital WD caviar. windows accpeted the hardrive and i can see it in device manager, but its not under my computer so i cant do anything with it. does this prob have something to do with installing an os on the new HDD?

right click the one you c in device manager and click format and then format it and it should work.

when i right click the new HDD in device manager, the only options im given is:
"update driver..."
"disable"
"uninstall"
"scan for hardware changes"
"properties".

i just fixed it when playing around in a managment program i found but thanks for helping
