Default No sound, again!

My sound card just dropped from the device list! What the hell is going on. Is it possible to fix this without driver CD because I have no optical drive right now.

If its onboard you probably won't find seperate drivers for the sound itself. Google the name of the motherboard with the word drivers next to it; and try reinstalling/updating the drivers for your entire motherboard. That should work.

Probably because it's onboard. I have an onboard card - realtek HD audio with my PC and have had so many problems with it - especially with vista. it's all working now, I had to get a new driver for my mobo.

lol, I had this problem earlier with my SoundBlaster Xtreme Gamer 5.1 card. All I did was a restart and there it was. I needed to restart anyway, so some extra software for it would be installed.
