no boot from cdrom

did/does the drive work in windows? ie: does it actually work with other discs, and is this a downloaded copy? try loading the bios defaults maybe, then setting the boot order again

yes it has worked in windows before...i reset the bios by taking the battery out to set it back to its default and changed it after that also and it didnt work.

So you need to install Windows?

yes..and another little issue i have is when i am able to start the windows installation with the floppy disc from microsoft..i am unable to format my c: drive as well
