no bios boot screen

so as of now I'm pretty sure I need to flash the motherboard bios in order to make my cpu compatible even though it says on the box it supports am3 cpu's and it's on the compatibility list. I came across a page stating you can boot flash your bios with a floppy or cd. Has anyone tried this method and would it even be possible for me? don't wanna fry anything but I might be willing to risk it if it's possible.

it says am3 cpu ready on the front and back and it's on the cpu compatibility list i posted earlier. That's why I bought this cpu in the first place. I downloaded the bios file for it and now I just need to flash it I suppose. Might take it in to a shop. I could probably just buy an older cpu for cheaper though. haha.
