Aftermarket CPU coolers are nice to have but like you said, finding one for an i7 is pretty hard nowadays. I just got an i7 965 system for my work and didn't get an aftermarket cpu fan with the idea that I would wait a month or two and then get one once people have time to get them built and perfected. Sandard one should work fine for a while.
