It's buffered RAM and fast too, but it's generally used in servers because of that. It's very expensive, but good technology. Here's an article that explains how it works:
wow, sounds interesting. but a max of 190+GB ram!?!?! wt*??? thats a lot. who besides servers would need that? anyway, if it his mainstream it should be pretty cool
I'm thinking it will with minor changes in the technology. Right now, we're looking at DDR3 in the immediate future. I hope they do make a version of FB-DIMM for regular desktop PCs.
