newbie needs help selecting laptop

hello all...i'm looking for a new laptop...preferably a 17"...i do prefer a new one...not used or refurbished...with some sort of warranty. what is the cheapest one available? i'd be using it at home often...but as well on the road. i don't mind the extra size/weight.
also, i was curious as to what internet option is best...sprints broadband or verizon wireless's broadband. both are $60/month

how much are u looking to spend? if i were u i would get the alien ware wich is a nice labtop or get an asus labtop wich is just as good. what do u plan to do with it? and 17in screen! thats gonna be a huge labtop just saying. i would go with verizon. my cousins have it for there labtop and its pretty good. htey have more coverage so u get better signals.
