The X1800GTO from ATI has been launched today. It's like any of the other previous GTO models, it's just a downgraded version of the current model. The X1800GTO boasts 12 pixel pipelines, but still a ton of the pixel shader processors, which is truly what matters. It's still fast, 500MHz core clock and 1000MHz memory clock.

What makes this card so appealing to me is the price tag. A mere $230 for one fo the best cards out on the market. To me, this is a good deal. It still has 256MB of GDDR3 and is 256-bit. Check out the card from NewEgg.com. :)

Well, I don't think it's target card is the 7800GT, but the 7600GT. Who knows, what I can conclude form it though is that it offers relativly good performance at a very reasonable price. :)

ATI just launched it to show like they are winning the GPU battle, or not ready to surrender. Which is hilarious, actually.

It's ATI's response to nVIDIA's strong mid-range line, since they've been dominating that area for a while now. :D

yea cause if you got a tight budget better go with NVDIA most cases the 6800 GS is a perfect example

So it's an x800GTO with better pixel shader things per pipeline? I might look into that if it's true.
