sorry for long post guys ​

right recently i tried making my girlfriend a photo album simply coz she has alot of family that doesnt live with her so she wanted to show then her pics and i jus read w3schools guide to html lol.

so im far from an expert but i wanted to test my skills.

now i made it locally on my computer using notepad and then when i was finished uploaded everything to yahoo geocities but soon to find out for some reason the photos didnt want to show ..

i had them like

since the photos were in the same folder as the album.html file it worked just fine when i uploaded all files to geocities they didnt work even know they were in the same folder i had to go like ... src="http://www.geo /...... etc

which was rather iritating but i did it with all like 20 photos ..so far only to discover after refreshing the page 2 times to check if it worked i got an error saying this user has used all its something today probably bandwidth but i cant member now.

anyway wot im looking for is another free place like geocities which would let me shorten things that are in same folder like src="picture.jpg" and wont cut my bandwidth or woteva i maxxed out.

but wot else would i need to do how do i host my files on line ? help please guys my pc is on 24/7 so that wudnt be a problem i would prefer to set up my site using my pc as a server but if you could find a site similar to geocities that wud do same thing im open to that aswell ?

You can easily create slidshows and everything with that.

Yeah its A LOT EASIER than using HTML manually...
As for the hosting, sign-up at http://110mb.com. Its what I use for my sites. Its free! Lots of good features and its easy to transfer files back and forth.
As for the domain, if you're willing to pay then thats fine, but if you want to go the free way like my, go to: http://freedomain.co.nr.

but how do i use my comp as a server ? like buy a domain as i dunno www.photoalbum.co.uk and then people that go there get directed to my ...

C:/documents and settings///album/homepage.html ?

or when you buy a domain do you get to uplaod files to it ?

i dunno help me please lol
