Default new videocard

ok, so im selling my Sony Mylo that i won.
I want to get a new video card. I want at least a 8800GT, also willing to go for an ATi, price range 200-300. Which one should i get?
And would my pentium D 2.8 bottleneck something that powerful?

Get an 8800GT. It will be fine with your processor.

I don't know anything about your board, any chance of upgrading to a Core 2 Duo?

id rather not spend $200-300 on a new mobo and processor just to get a videocard, which would be another $200. so i dont really want to do that. i just want to know if my cpu would bottleneck an 8800GT or 9600Gt

Obviously it's going to be a little bit slower than with an E8400 etc but it's won't be a much of a bottleneck.

Don't expect to ever use that video card to it's full potential on that CPU.
