So I have decided after getting a nice bonus at work to not upgrade my current system and to build myself a new system. Let me know what you think. Total cost is about $1,500 after tax (excluding monitor, OS, & PSU). Here are the specs:

CPU: Core i5-3570K
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Mobo: MSI Z77A-GD65
Ram: GSkill ARES Series 16GB dual channel PC3-12800
SDD: Kingston HyperX 3K series, 120GB
HDD: 1TB Western Digital Blue, 7200 RPM
Video: Sapphire Radeon HD7870 OC 2GB
Drive: LG 14X Blu-Ray burner
Case: NZXT Phanton full tower, white w/ additional fans
PSU: Cosair TX750M
OS: Windows 7 Pro
Monitor: BenQ G2420HD

took and ran Prime95 for about 10 minutes and it looks like the Hyper 212 is doing a good job. It's funny though, while at idle my CPU core #2 & 3 run the coolest and the #1 & #4 running slightly hotter

I still want to fill the 2 empty fan spots with 200MM fans for a total of 7 fans (4 in, 3 out), but you have to buy NZXT's 200mm fans as other ones don't line up.
