Default New system ca get XP to Installed

Hi everyone,

I just got a new system Motherboard GA-K8VM800M, AMD SEMPRON 2600+, DDR400 256MB, HDD 40g 7200RPM 2MB ATA WD.
I am not been able to installed XP pro on the hard disk... It has some problems copying some files because either the CD is bad or the Hard drive is not set to run windows XP.. ah????? I try to installed windows 2000 pro and similar problems install the first part then it said that can copy some files and then when it reboot i freezes..
I am not sure if it is the HDD or some setting in BIOS that I am not looking.
Any help would be appreciated

thanks
