Default New rig old HD?

If I build a completely new computer, can I just use the HD from my old computer without reinstalling windows XP and all my other programs?

Thanks,
Jake

Yes you can. I've followed this tutorial and it worked without a hitch.

If you want a stable install, then no, you can't, as Windows installs itself around your chipset.

If your upgrading from a stone-age PC (like pentium 2 or athlon K6) then you usually will work without problems. Anything newer and it tends to crash before it even reaches the loading screen.
