If your willing to step up your graphics card id get the 8800gt. probably the best price/performance ratio graphics card out there.

I would recommend an AM2/AM2+ motherboard so you have the possibility of upgrading to a Phenom in the future even if it means abandoning SLI support. And I agree with Cabbspapp on the 9600GT, that or the HD 3870, whichever is cheaper. And I think AMD is the best solution for a budget build. You could try the 5000+ black edition, a simple multiplier change and you can be running at 6000+ speeds:
