Default new parts

I want to upgrade a pc im buying off a mate and i was wondering if you guys could help me out with what i should get for it. It is a AMSTRAD Intel pentium 4 (42800MHZ, Nvidia Geforce4 MX 440 with AGP8X). I want to upgrade the graphics card to a 256mb one or a newer 128mb one, and add another 512mb...the current one is a Elixir ram card.

You need to clear up what you're asking... I assume you're asking what video card people here would reccomend? Then with the 512mb part, I assume you mean system ram? What kind does your system use?

Now, I don't know much about current video cards, but if you just plan to upgrade one of those, va video card would be your best bet for better performace.

If you wanted RAM too, knowing the speed would help ;P Is the mobo compatable with 8x? Or just 4x AGP, etc etc...(or what model is it so we can look it up...
