Well, I had a laptop dv7 - 2200, the screen wouldn't come on, tried removing, ram, and a few things.

But anyways, ended up just getting a new motherboard, hooked it up still nothing but flashing cap and num lights, which I understand is the code to what's wrong.

So I think it may be the processor chip, but I only had a older processor and wasn't sure if it even worked. So notsure if that's the problem....

Try doing afew different things.

So notsure could this be the processor not letting the screen to come on?

Why didn't you buy a new screen, I thought that would be cheaper and the solution, try putting a external monitor on, then see what happens.

I tied a hdmi cord to tv? Or would hdmi not work

Hdmi or VGA, some laptops don't always display the external so try pressing alt and f7, if this doesn't work I'll give you more suggestions.

Ok thanks, So alt and f7 with hdmi hooked up

Give it a shot, your f1 keys should show you a screen picture on the key, that's the one you push, alt and the key
