Well guys I am getting a new monitor, I am giving my 19" non-widescreen to the other comp and getting a new one. I am looking for a monitor thats is no more than $300. Widescreen would be better for me.

I am liking this one a lot.

Also what does 2ms(GTG) mean?

Any other monitor suggestions would be appreciated, I am open for ideas.

The Samsung is a very nice monitor. It has a nice response time of 5ms and a great contrast ratio of 1000:1. I have heard very good reviews of them.

I found this about 2ms(GTG):
BTB = Black to Black.

The old standard of measuring response times. The pixel starts off as black, then switches to bright white, and then has to switch back to black. That takes much longer than GTG which simply measures the time to switch from one color to the next. It's just a marketing ploy.

For example, Samsung markets the same 22" LCD monitor as the 22BTB and 22GTG. The 22BTB lists a BTB response time of 12ms. The 22GTG list a GTG response time of 2ms. Which one would you prefer to buy?

Remember, they are the exact same monitor, just two different names.

I have the 226BW which is pretty similar to the 216BW. Small differences in a few things but overall they look pretty much the same.

I payed 300e for my 226BW (yeah everything is expensive here) and I was 100% satisfied. It's huge and the quality is good. Also the monitor looks really nice, which is always a plus.

Thanks for the ideas guys, that Acer monitor looks very good for the price. It seems the only difference is the contrast ratio and 0.4" in size, the Samsung has a bit higher contrast ratio and 0.4" smaller. Oh I use my monitor mainly for gaming, surfing the web and doing homework. So 5ms seems pretty good for me, ive read that anything 5ms and below its pretty good for gaming.

So the acer is a pretty good choice too. So this are my two options hmmmm.

I have an Acer X192W 19" widescreen LCD that works great, Colors are bright and the picture is clear. Games look and play great too.

I like the higher contrast ratio of the Samsung, but for $40 less with free shipping, the Acer is a good deal.

Acers are cheap, but not great quality even for TN panels.

If you're going to get a cheap TN monitor, go with the Samsung. Acer is just too cheap.

Also, keep in mind a 20" monitor will have a much better picture than a 22" monitor. They have the same resolution, yet with the 20" you have more pixels in a smaller area. I had a value 22" monitor at one point like the ones you were looking at, but now I have a much higher quality 20" monitor, and the difference is incredible.
