new monitor, which should I get?

I am still leaning towards the second spectre monitor listed. It has 800:1 instead of 1000:1 but has 16.7 milion colors instead of 16.2. Is the vertical refresh rate what I look at to see what I would set my refresh rate at? On my current CRT I have it set at 85. It looks like both of these only go up to 75.

For the refresh rate, the higher the better. Human eyes will not detect anything below 75Hz so 85Hz will be the same as 75Hz to the naked eye. Yeah, just make sure it's 75Hz or higher.

Yeah, if its not 75 there is no way I'm getting it, lol. I always adjust them at school from 60-75 or 85.

I think I am getting the second sceptre listed on the first page.

Get the more expensive one which is the 22" monitor. It has support for the 1080p HD spec. It has DVI support too and at the same time, less energy consumption with better performance than the other monitor. Despite having DVI support, I don't know if it ships with the DVI cables or not. I don't see it in the pictures.

But if $50 is a big deal to you, then the other one will do just fine too.
