Default New Mobo /cpu

Alright well my friends pc has an AMD 64 3000 and i wanted to swap my mobo and cpu for his....would this involve any reformatting because we want to do it without it being noticeable..

Can i just take out the mobo and cpu and switch it with mine..and then install the drivers for the mobo?
