New member need help

Hi everyone,
I'm new here in this forum. I would like have some advices in which laptop buy. My budget is $1000 USD. I don't know if should be a 13'' screen or big. I will use it for surf internet, write assignments, and edit pictures (photoshop).

Look at the Lenovo ThinkPad line. It's not attractive in any way or form, however it's built with great functionality and quality in mind. If you want looks, you can look at some HP and Dells. Acers are good too. It's just a matter of your taste in these companies. I personally like Lenovo and Dell. For what you want try to look for an 800MHz FSB 2.0GHz+ Dual-core. Vista. 2GB of RAM with room for 4GB. RAM is expensive when buying from brand-name companies, so you just buy after market. I would go with a 15.4" screen. It's not too small yet not too big. When messing with photoshop you want a good resolution, but not tiny screen. The graphics card won't really matter. Try also to get Wireless draft N, just to be future-proof.
