i recently purchased a new (but slightly old model keyboard), it has one of those green plugs to put into the old school socket. I plugged it in and it hasnt picked it up by itself, he sent me a floppy drive for installation, i dont have a floppy drive. So whats the easiest way of installing it guys?...I could put it onto disk using a laptop...

ive never heard of an older keyboard using a floppy to install.

I have an old school kayboard too, with the green socket and plug and it recognizes it right when I plug it in.

You may have already tried this, but try turning off your computer, plugging it in and then turning it back on.

Or go to

Start>Control panel>printers and other hardware>keyboard>hardware tab

and see if it is recognized there. It should say

Location: plugged into keyboard port

Then you can troubleshoot.

If its recognized, your keyboard may be a dud.

Keyboards don't normally require a floppy to install unless they have all those hotkeys and stuff on them. Especially those older keyboards like PS/2 those should just be plug and play.

Thanks PC noob, it only needed a reboot, its got those media hot keys on thats why i think. Still dunno y he sent me a floopy instead of a cd. Thanks guys.
