Default new hdd have some questions

i purchased this hdd http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144701
and was wondering what does the 3.0gbs stand for and the serial ata II is that compatible with my motherboard http://www.intel.com/products/mother...5GCZ/index.htm

3.0GB/s is the data transfer speed, if your board has SATA ports it will run as SATAII is backward compatible, though it will run at SATA speeds i.e. 150GB/s

yay thanks lol...and one more thing when running two hdd's do i have to set it up as master and slave or sata doesn't use that?

SATA only allows for one device on its cable, so there is no need for anything like master-slave or its jumpers. So, you just plug the SATA cable the device (along with power), and you're done. If you have two SATA HDs, then you'll have two cables.

mmmmmmmm, need to think on that one, I always thought the port on the m/board determined the master slave config

EDIT:

I knew I'd seen it for this board but it is refering to standard ide mode lol
