Default New hard drive, but which one?

So, I built the system in my sig winter of 2005, and I've finally used up most of the space on my hard drive (15gb left). So I'm thinking of buying a new one, probably 500GB storage. Haven't been paying much attention to HDDs lately though so I'm not certain as to which model/make I should get. So, if anyone has any exp with the current 500GB hdds out there, that'd help out alot. thanks in adv.

It all goes down to preference. WD or Seagate. I am partial to the Barracuda.

Western Digital, Seagate, Hitachi. Yes, the article is up to date.

The new Samsung Spin Point drives are actually very good apparently, winning awards in Custom PC.
Very fast and quiet, and even beating an old Raptor loading a Farcry level.

Honestly both WD and Seagate drives seem to be equally as good. I have two 500GB WD's and two 500GB seagates.
