Don't get that CPU/mobo bundle, it's actually quite expensive for what you're getting and the mobo's specs aren't that good + the CPU cooler is a bit weak for cooling the Q6600 which runs quite hot. The PSU, CPU and RAM are all good though, but you might want to consider the 800MHz Corsair memory which is pretty much the standard now. As ofor the mobo, get his one, cheaper and alot better specifications, I have it and I can't fault it at all: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131180
If he's a gamer and he plays alot of FPSs/RPGs, he'll probabbly need a better GPU. Get one of these two, two different cards for different budgets and the best price to performance ratio available at the moment: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150264
or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161211
BTW don't worry about PCI-E 2.0 in the title. These cards will work with any mobo that has a PCI-EX16 slot. Also for the case, if I were you, I'd get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133046
but that's just my preference, it's your money.
EDIT: I forgot about the CPU cooler, I defnitely recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16835186134R
It's an open box so it's half price.
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE @ 4.0GHz + TU120E lapped - MSI 770-CD45 AM3 - 2x2GB OCZ DDR3 1333MHz - Sapphire HD 4870 - Samsung Spinpoint 500GB 7200RPM 16MB cache HDD - Tagan TG600-BZ Piperock - (Currently open test bed) - Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit.
