Default New Computer

I am looking for a new desktop computer. I will be using it for internet and little bit of photoshop and video editing. What do I want to look at when looking at computers?

Probably the best place to start is letting us know your budget. If you are going to be doing some video editing, a strong CPU and plenty of harddrive storage should be priorities.

Can you answer the following?
-Budget
-Desktop or laptop
-Will you be running any games

$900 dollars will get you a very decent computer these days. Comfortable building yourself or would you prefer pre-built?

At that price, building it yourself would get you the best deal.

Here's a decent system in your price range.

Anything you buy new is sufficient for regular browsing.

You typically want to look for RAM, more than 4GB (I suggest 8GB for Photoshop) and a Video card with at least 1GB of dedicated RAM, with decent speeds.

I agree, it's a good computer, but that is ridiculously overpriced. Looking at newegg, this appears to be the best deal as long as it won't be used for gaming. It's still overpriced though.

Pre-built = Overpriced to anyone who builds.

Pretty much. Though, I have seen a few ASUS systems that weren't priced too badly. They were intended for gaming though, so they really aren't what the OP needs.
