THanks for the advice guys.. and i have one more question.. as i said; i'm newb, and does the "Socket" of the CPU have to be same as the motherboard? if so what socket is best? ... if there is a best socket..

Socket of cpu has to be same as mobo. For upgrade reasons the socket 939 is a good one for amd. Also, socket 754, socket a, would be good choices.

alright thanks that helps a lot - it wouldn't be too good if i got a chip that kinda didn't work with the motherboard.... and well that's seriuosly about it unless anyoen has more sugestions on what to get and maybe some specific chips and/or motherboards. and maybe a link? PPLEASE KEEP POSTING (i know most users on here know atleast something about this topic and can help)

well for the motherboard and PCU combined, i'd like it to be like 400..? and if possible, obviously, less.. and more than 400 is also alright. but definately not over 500.
