Default New comp isnt working

k i just finished building my computer (my first time) and i powered it up but nothing appeared on the monitor. it just made some noises and the fans started to work. does anyone know somethings i could try that would help me find the source of the problem.

What noises? Have ya checked that ya graphics card is seated properly? And maybe ya graphics card needs a power cable connected to it(cant say for sure without ya specs)

oh srry about that they are:

core 2 duo e6400 2.13
1 gig corsair 667mhz
7600 gt 256mb
maxtor sata 160 gig HD
Gigabyte 945P-S3

and as for the noises it sounded like there was a beep, then some other clicks.

Did you plug in 4 pin power to your CPU on your MOBO?

Ok so 1 beep suggests that its passing the POST ok. Is your monitor connected properly etc?

Also try removing ya RAM and see if the screen comes on then, sometimes RAM is funny like this

yea my monitor is connected. its also making some other noises which i do not recognize.

ill try taking out the ram and ill tell you what happens.
