Default New comp BUILD

Hey guys, despite my problems from an earlier post...I'm building a new comp. All the parts are from NEWEGG, because I like their fast shipping.

Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811144026
APEVIA (ASPIRE) X-Dreamer II ATXB4KLW-BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 420W Power Supply ( I know, bad PSU doesnt support what I need )

PSU (supports SLI and Sata)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817711002
OCZ PowerStream OCZ520ADJSLI ATX, BTX, EPS12V 520W Power Supply 100~120Vac / 200~240Vac 10/6a

MOBO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813127232
ABIT AN8 32X Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 ATX AMD Motherboard

Proc http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103542
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo 2.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core

GFX (2 for SLI) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150130
XFX PVT42EUDE3 Geforce 6800XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card

HD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144701
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

MeM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145488
CORSAIR XMS 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory

This build is gonna run me at $900 and I feel that its a substantial upgrade from my old socket 754 system. I did my research and I feel all the parts are compatible but if any of you comp guru's see any red flags please post! I'm just worried that the MOBO curse will fall upon me and I'll be RMA'ing like a champ.

BTW, is there a specific build process some of you guys like to use to ensure that every part is working as intended?

That's a good build, but for the graphics card, I would go with a 7600GT (or SLI 2 7600GT's).

This eVGA model is $5 cheaper than your 6800XT, and the core clock is over 200 MHz faster. The memory clock is 400 MHz faster. There's also a $20 mail in rebate, so in reality its only $110.
Basically, SLI these, and it will own the 6800's.

everything looks good, but unless you plan on going DX10 which is mighty expensive, I would suggest you get a single 7600GT or 7900GT

Unfortunately my 6800 has been shipped. I'm just gonna return it for a refund and order the eVGA 7600. I cant pass on the performance and price, I will feel like I cheated myself. haa

Yup, I got a fan/heatsink along with some artic silver. Unfortunately newegg will charge me a restock fee of 15% if I refund the xfx 6800xt. Will there be a huge performance difference between that and the vEGA 7600? I believe I read somewhere that a single vEGA 7600 will outperform the xfx 6800xt in SLI.

yep the 15% IS WORTH it the 7600 is a monster

but i doubt its a big enough monster to outperform 2X 6800Xts in SLI

But definetly get the 7600 man

call ups and refuse the delivery... they will have to return it to newegg, where you will be credited with the money back.
