New Build: You Decide!

Okay, last question i swear! (until I start to build it anyway!)

My friend tells me; "I can't see a CPU heatsink in there and you will need thermal paste (compound) to attach the CPU heatsink to the CPU. "

What on earth is this all about? Not another cost! Can anyone explain in lamens terms, what these things are, and whether or not I will need to buy them? Thanks in advance!

And Thanks for the reply worship, I managed to get the front off, and have now mounted my extra fan :D

The Phenom 9850 comes with a heatsink and pre-applied thermal paste. All you need to do is give the CPU's IHS a little clean with some rubbing alcohol and then stick the heatsink right on top of it and secure.
