Default New Rig - Need advice & Critisism. **UPDATED**

***EDITED***

Hey, upgrading my pc very soon and have 250-300 to do so ( depends on how much i get for my birthday ) and im upgrading my Motherboard (from a 939 Foxconn) my memory (ddr133-400 2gb in total) my processor (amd athlon 64 3200+) and my psu (non-specific 500w XD). Also, im getting a mouse thats not a trackball.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139971 << Processor

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/116755 <<Memory (2gb in total this time)

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142854 <<Motherboard (Higher-end now since edit)

*** This change leaves me with about 60 free, what should i do with it? more memory or something? or a psu?

My current gfx is a 7600GT which i cannot afford to upgrade, but i think everything else is in much higher need of upgrading than this card.

Anything you can improve on this rig so far?

thanks,

I would go with this PSU: http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(32311)...50-GB-PSU.aspx

Okay, the 500W PSU should be fine for now, a 7600GT only needs like a 350W to a 400W PSU anyway. Use that extra money to get a better motherboard:

Other than that, looks good.

EDIT: Oh, and save some money by getting a 4GB kit of RAM:

That's a good deal for all those components, BUT...

A PSU if often the most overlooked component, but you could say it's the most important. Buy a cheap PSU, and there's a good chance it'll blow up in your face down the road, sometimes literally.

A good PSU isn't that much more expensive.

Hiper are a quality manufacturer and to be safe you should spend a little more to a get a reliable unit.

...guys...

There is no need to upgrade the PSU yet. Save that money, and get an actual decent P35 motherboard. If he upgrades his video card by a lot in the future, then yes, he could use a new PSU. But it's a bit of a waste right now.

ok then, assuming i dont need a psu until i get a graphics card, i could re-arrange the rig a bit.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142854 < More towards the mid-high end mobos, a solid performer so i hear and ofen makes an appearance in testing rigs in MicroMart, a PC magazine.

Same memory, but sticking with 2gb for the moment, with the option to put another gig in later down the line.

same processor as well.

This would make the rig around 240 with 60 quid leway for erm, psu?

Updated original post. take a look see
