Question New Build - Suggestions?

CPU - Core 2 Duo E6600 - $500 - http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_p...egory_id]=1452

HDD - Segate 320GB SATA-II - $180 - http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_p...HD-ST3320620AS

Motherboard - Asus P5W-DH-Deluxe - $425 - http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_p...SP5W-DH-DELUXE

Case - ANTEC PLUSVIEW-II ATX TALL-TOWER CASE - $140 - http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_p...tegory_id]=220

PSU - COOLERMASTER REALPOWER 550W ATX 20/24-PIN PSU - $190 - http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_p...egory_id]=1326

Monitor - ACER AL1916ES 19IN LCD MONITOR - $350 - http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_p...tegory_id]=384

RAM - Corsair Twin2X 2048MB 240-pin DDR2 XMS2-5400 - $420 - http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_p...egory_id]=1298

Video Card - 7950GT Golden Sample 512mb DDR3 PCI-E x16 - $510 - http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_p...egory_id]=1459

Which comes to a grand total of $2535, give or take.

Very rough, but pretty much what I'm looking for, though I would of rather spent a maximum of $2000 (A little over I know... lol). Any suggestions on better components? And also maybe where I could cut down the total a bit? Basically, I want a Vista/DX10 ready computer (and one that can play most games on medium to high settings)... Speaking of which, I forgot if the 7950GT supports DX10?

I've never built a computer before, and like I said, this is a very rough idea.

Any help is appreciated.

the 7950 does not support dx10. I think the only ones that support dx10 atm are the 8800GTS and the 8800GTX.

Go with this [ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817128006 ] power supply. Just as good, much cheaper.

Does Newegg ship to Australia, I don't know...

I might just wait for the price of the 7950 to go down. I'm thinking now that I wont get Vista for a while, at least not until service pack 1 or something. Wait until the first bug s are fixed.

And I might go back to a 17 inch screen.

See what I come up with out of that.
