I couldnt tell you first hand with DDR2

but i can tell you first hand with DDR 266 - DDR 333 - DDR 400

and there is a difference that you will notice, I would DEFINETLY get the max speed ram, DDR2 800

alright, i upgraded the ram and harddrive... still looking at different PSUs

any suggestions on a good monitor? i'm thinking 17"+ flat panel

I am using a 19" Acer i got from Newegg it was $195 shipped

It has no dead pixels

Looks great

and is HUGE

great for gaming, its not a widescreen, i like the full screens better

If you look around, you can usually find a 19" lcd-flat panel online at either newegg or ebay for sub 190's. Well worth it unless you found a 17" for sub 120 and wanna put the money into ram.

sound reasonable.

if i buy everything at once from newegg, what's the likelyhood it will all arrive around the same time?

EDIT-i found this viewsonic for a good price.. it's 156 after $40 MIR

Look like a great deal, Just go to best buy first and check out the widescreen and fullscreen and decide there what you like more.

I just bought a bunch of stuff the other day from newegg. I bought the same processor. I would recommend a faster ram with that cpu and board to take full advantage of it. I'd give you my thought on the same components I bought but i'm waiting on my tower and cpu. My tower ships seperately should be arriving today. Not sure if you saw this deal on tigerdirect but for 12 bucks more you get ghost recon 3 free with it. Here's what I ended up buying total came to $1352. This was after input from some of the regulars here.
