New build, $1600 budget

Hey guys, this is going to be my first build in about 5 years. Considering the fact that I was a dumb 11 year old when I built my first PC, I didn't exactly choose the best parts that I could have, (namely my motherboard), and that computer crapped out on me about 2 years back. Now I feel it is time to upgrade from this laptop that I am currently typing on, because while it gets me around the internet just fine, it lacks severely when it comes to gaming. Also, it gets annoying having to go use my parents computer when ever I want to play a more graphically intense game.

The budget I have for this computer is approximately $1600.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H - Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Optical Drive: 2x Asus 24x DVD burner - Newegg.com - ASUS 24X DVD Burner - Bulk 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS - CD / DVD Burners

Monitor: Asus 23.6in LCD - Newegg.com - ASUS VH242H Black 23.6" 5ms HDMI Full 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ASCR 20000:1 (1000:1) W/Speakers

Fans for h100 cooler: 2x 120mm Cougar fans - Newegg.com - COUGAR CF-V12HP Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing (Fluid) 300,000 Hours 12CM Silent Cooling Fan with Pulse Width Modulation

All these things add up to about $1600 after I do a few combo deals and add in a few extra things, like a keyboard, mouse, SATA cables, ETC.

I want to build a computer that can run all current games (e.g. Skyrim, BF3), with almost no lag on max settings. Also, I do plan on OCing my CPU, which is why I have chosen the h100 cooler.

Any changes/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I will probably be changing the CPU from a Sandy Bridge to an Ivy Bridge considering they are being released tomorrow.

this rig looks alright, just a few things, 2x optical drives, is this necessary, and just a 500gb HDD ? the price of hard drives are quite low so i think you should invest in maybe a 1tb, :)

I tend to agree, even 1.5 tb is ok, You might not think that you need it, but you might eventually will. and also get ONE bluray drive

i got a bluray drive :')
ive got an ASUS P8H61-M-LE and using i5 2400 HD2000 graphics, no graphics card, will the blu-ray drive work ?
