New 24-karat gold CD abd DVDs

Question. The average Lifespan of a Human is 80 to a Maximum of 100 Years.

So.

Why do we need discs that last 300 Years?

Probably important data that's going to be passed on to future generations or something like photo albums, movie classics, or something like that. I don't see work using these because they get new hard drives all the time for backup. Even the data warehouse where all the tables are stored don't use CDs or DVDs. But aren't those Blu Ray disc neat? I guess BD's is what we can call them.

I'l just move it :)

Very interesting. Though the lifespan of cd's/dvd don't really bother me already. What we need is more storage to catch up with hard drives for almost permanent backup :(
