So at school, in our MML(multimedia Journalism) we have two MACs which are used for editing the school news program, but I was thinking, since everyone only uses one of them, if we could network them togethor so people working on different segments of the show could combine them when they were done, it might save some time, is there anyway to do this?

Get a crossover cable or a switch and two network cables. Put them in the same subnet and ip range and it should be pretty easy.

Yeah, just files, and they also are connected to the school network for internet. So maybe if we got a 5 port switch we could share files?

Yeah if they are on the same switch they can share. I recommend AFP, which is apple's own file sharing protocol. Mac's can also share via NFS (linux protocol) and SMB (windows protocol).

It's been 2.5 years or so since I've done it, but I found a nice guide :)
