Does he have a price range and any preferred brands? Also, does he want to build or buy pre-built?

he'll like to spend like around three hundred dollars. I don't think he really cares, if it's build or not.

If there's anything he can get for free, like a decent size screen etc, then great, because a monitor can eat up quite a chunk of your budget, add to this the price of Windows and you've eaten half the budget already! I'll have a quick hunt around and revisit the topic.

The reply I just did is one of the better deals you'll get for $300, but it doesn't include monitor, keyboard or mouse!

Much better spec package than the one I mentioned, the only downside being it doesn't come with Windows... goes to show how much money we have to waste on the OS!

Yeah its the equivalent to an i5 or maybe even an i7. Getting Windows 7/8/8.1 isn't very cheap either. $99.99 at Tiger Direct for Win 7 Home Premium Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium GFC-02733 Operating System Software - 64-Bit, DVD at TigerDirect.com or $89.99 for Win 8.1 Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-Bit, Operating System Software - OEM DVD, English - WN7-00659 at TigerDirect.com..
