Default Need some help

Right I have done a bit of research and ready to take the plunge and build my first PC, here are the main parts I have chosen.

Case: Antec Twelve Hundred
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...html?ANT-1200#

Mobo: Asus P5Q3 Deluxe Wifi
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...ml?ASU-P5Q3DW#

CPU: Intel Quad Core Q9550
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s....html?IL-Q9550

HDD: Samsung Spin Point F1 (1TB)
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...tml?SAM-S100S2

If you havent noticed there are some obvious parts missing, thats what Im stuck on. I have no clue what sort of PSU to get (for power and make) price does not matter, GPUs (theres so freakin many) I have a budget of around 200 and need the best bang for buck and finally RAM, keeping in mind that I need DDR3 whats the best I can get for around 150 (I need 4 gigs for 64bit OS).

I do plan to overclock this build, so any recommendations on better parts than I have listed will be helpfull

(just for the notice I already have a cpu cooler and a dvd drive in mind)

thanks.

Ditched the C2Q Q9550 and get the Core i7 920. Pretty much same price, better technology. You might have to spend a little more on memory and motherboard, but I think overall it would be worth it.

Core i7 920
MSI X58 Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 (3x2GB)

For PSU: Corsair Modular 620W
For Video Card: HD4870 512MB

Your budget on the RAM overflowed a little bit, but you're getting 6GBs.

You will have loads of fun OC'ing the new QPI on the 920. You should get some beastly OC's.

Outch, you just burned a hole in my logic on what I thought was a good pc build and an even bigger one in my budget...

But I might have to go with that suggestion, got a question will these fit on the mobo?

Corsair Dominator Airflow Fan:

Zalman CNPS9700-NT:

The Zalman will not fit on the CPU. You need a heatsink that supports socket 1366. IMO, the memory airflow fan is a waste. You won't really need it. With newer Core i7 CPU's, you don't really have to OC the memory with the CPU. In fact, OC'ing in these little beasts is a whole different ball game.

Here's a quick read on the i7: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...-cpu,2041.html

Some STK1366 Heatsinks:

Noctua
Asus Triton

Those were the only 2 I could find. You might have to look elsewhere for a good brand-name HSF. You might have to hold out on a good HSF and use stock until some good ones pop up.

yes, the backplate of your motherboard can support the thermalight 120 extreme. In case much better to ask first the store if its compatible. About on the the fan, you may use the Thermaltake A2029 Smart Case Fan II its a 12cm Case Fan with speed control. check the product specification first.

It should work. For a fan, I'm not sure. For a good OC I would say anything that pushes a lot of air.

Not bad, and you can get the Gigabyte board for a little cheaper at Scan.

And yes, you will be able to use your TRUE with the 920.

Thanks guys, I have ordered the mobo, (got it at novatech where I saved a few pounds) going to order the case now.

One last question, will that PSU have enough power because I do want to overclock this thing to the best I can and this build is going to have to last me a long time, so I will be upgrading it.

thanks.
