AMD build isn't an option? a 955 and an i7 will be about the same performance, but the 955 will save you like $200.

enough for a video card upgrade and an overall better system.

at microcenter their selling it for 199 plus 20 dollars tax. so thats 220$. phenom II is 160$.

The motherboard will cost you quite a bit more for an i7.

You can save $100 or more just from the motherboard.

I personally always go with AMD the most rather than Intel, AMD products can be good for OCing as well

Well technically yes, but it will free up some money for a video card upgrade.

Phenom II+5850>i7+5770

It will cost about the same.

not even close.

you will need a better video card for that.

5850 should do it, just not high AA, 2x maybe.
