what do you think?
another question what is so great about a 64FX?

Get the X2, dual core is always better. If you can afford it, go for the FX, but get an FX-60 or FX-62, they are dual core. Still, what do you want to use your computer for? Are you going to be doing a lot of multitasking where a dual-core would pay off? Or are you just a casual web surfer/ emailer?

well I do alot of games like http://www.knightonlineworld.com and some more pc games you buy at the store. I do listen to music while I am playing my games and maybe once in a while in the middle of my gamming still while I am listing to music I will look somthing up on the web! or I will listen to music while sufing or somthing like that. I am just saying the chip I have know is fast and I like it but I want somthing alot faster ;)

Well if you want a quick upgrade, just go for X2 3800+. It should hold you for a few years, as more and more programmers write programs that utilize the 2nd core. I'd personally just save up and get a new mobo, and a Intel Core 2 Duo processor. They're better than the FX line by AMD, and cost less too. Of course, its a big investment buying a new motherboard, and cpu, but it's worth it. You'll be glad you switched over!
