The point is, the tower option will still be cheaper and more powerful. How difficult is it to answer someone's question?

Yeah, but I'm trying to see if I go even lower.

160 squid. right:
basic = sempron or celeron
basic = motherboard with on board VGA for video

combine those two:

- http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.264188 $80

basic = <=1gb of ram - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820161028 - $18
basic = small HD (possibly 80-160gb from ebay for under 20 pounds or "thirty bucks")
basic = case with an inbuilt PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.260799 $60

say $190 all together?

WHERE IS NEWEGG'S skt 939 RANGE

I think I could of done it cheaper here in the UK

You could get an even cheaper PSU and case combo. I've seen them for as low as like 35 dollars. Perhaps then you could step up the proc a bit. A single core seems a little...out-dated for business.

ah didn't really spend all that much time learning how to navigate new egg, but the cheaper the better (don't quote me)

if your client is going to be using very simple applications then a mere stick of 256mb and a cheap cheap (i mean 2 years ago I saw semprons for 27 retail new, and that was 2 years ago). If by simple apps you mean programs like office etc, then the computing you need will be relatively very affordable and much below your $250 budget
