Need input on my doubts.

Ok, I know you all have heard about my Audio Driver Problems....I'm missing a driver that I can't download, and have to purchase the CD to fix the problem. So right now, No sound.

Heres my question. I have another computer which is running ME, and has all the software the computer came with along with drivers, etc etc.. Now If I take that HD and put it in my computer, Can I upgrade the OS to XP, and fix my audio problem?

are the 2 computers identical?
If not then no u can't. If they are then maybe u can. I'm not sure if u need to reinstall windows if the computers are identical. But still, u can't upgrade it to xp since that would mean a reinstall of windows and that would mean that the drivers would be gone.

Why can't u download the drivers? And didn't the sound card come with the disk which has the drivers?

Windows or HP doesnt have them on their site. It's the stock sound on the computer, so I dont have any disks.
