Default need info

i have a amd athlon 64 +3000 1MB (2ghz) and i saw a good deal for an intel celeron 2.8 ghz 256K. now i was doing some research and found that my amd "costs" more than the celeron. to me thats saying the amd is "better" but the celeron is "faster". so ill just get to the point..what would be better for gaming...my amd or the celeron?

No comparison. GHz aren't everything (and aren't much) now a days. You athlon 64 will significantly outperform that and almost all celerons.

You want to stay away from Celerons when you are gaming. The Athlon 64 isn't even comparable to the Celeron, let alone in the same class. AMD in general is just too good for gaming. The FX line is superior while the X2 is also on top. Just wait until more multithreaded applications come out and the use of the new 64-bit Windows Vista. It will be pretty superior.
