Default need help w/ a server(pls read!)

ok every one...i need some free softwear that lets me run a server where people can save documents from once place and open them on another through a server of some sort...does any one know where to get the softwear to do this?

hook up apache? Make some sort of shortcut to the apache server.

Its not that simple.Who what and where are these files ?
If you are connected to the internet as you seem to be now,it's part of what your paying for.
So what does "run a server mean" ?
ICQ does a nice job.If your paying an isp first.
It's impossible to just "use the internet for free"

Its called set up your own server and let your people call it and login.
Type Free server software into google.

that why theres alot of free server stuff? php, msql, apache..hmmm. I used apache once for doing what you done. As for ICQ...bluto what are you on?
