need help upgrading.

I'm about to go off to college, and I need help upgrading my computer. Along with college, I'll also be downloading movies and audio. Games are not a concern for me because my consoles do just fine. Here's my specs, and you can tell me what to upgrade.

CPU: 2.1GHz
RAM: 512MB DDR
Vid: Geforce 2 Ti
HDD: 80GB (63.2GB empty)

I know that some upgrading is necessary because it takes literally hours just to download a few minutes of low-res video. It takes me about thirty minutes to download a minute-long trailer for a new game (I'm not kidding), and it takes almost thirty seconds to upload Microsoft Word. I know some upgrading is necessary, but what should I upgrade?

and if u download movies and music u need more HD space
movies take hella space up
get a external hard drive
and like 1 gig ram

I think ram would help out a lot, I'd go with that before anything else.

It's an AMD Athlon XP processor.

How much HDD should I get?

Do you mean 1GB extra Ram, or one GB total?
