Default need help with regedit

I must be a nerd or something
I have XP so I hit start > run > then type in regedit a box comes on the
screen then disappears, so I end up with my normal screen, what am I doing wrong, please help.

have you tried going on c://windows and opening it from there.

If it is a virus. Go on to www.pandasoftware.com/activescan

It can dectect all kinds of malware. and can heal Virus.
It was recommended by Microsoft.

Ehh.....panda virus scan is good BUT i use a different online scan program for the computers that i fix. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
