Make sure it is compatible with crossfire. Some are SLI only.

But I bet if Mutant Corn helped you build it its an AMD or i7 with x58 chipset, right?

And he usually recommends crossfire compatible boards.

edit: There may very well be changes between now and then. It's prolly better to wait to put an official build together till you're ready to order.

However, this will be similar to what you'll probably wind up with:

Mobo: ASUS P6T SE
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813131386

CPU: Core i7 920
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16819115202

RAM: Corsair XMS3 triple channel (only 6GB, but you won't even use half of that anytime soon)
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16820145258

GPU: XFX HD5770 XXX Edition
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814150464

PSU: Corsair 850W

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16817139009

Hard Drive: Seagate ST31000528AS 1TB
(Ungodly fast for an optical drive!)
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16822148433

DVD Burner: Lite-On 24x with Lightscribe

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16827106335

Case: Cooler Master Storm Scout

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16811119196

Should come out about right after shipping, tax, and rebates. Keep in mind, there will probably be better deals available by the time you're ready to order...probably with the GPU.
Well, he DID say a better deal would come along for a gpu, looks like he was right HAHA. Although I'm not getting the optical drive he mentioned, I read the reviews and the failure rates are out of this world.

Hope he's not too creeped out if/when he comes back into this thread for me quoting him :P

*edit* Can the 4830 run on 300w? I read somewhere that 400w is minimum.

It's not necessarily a minimum. They suggest these wattages for the entire rig to run on. The card does not consume 400 watts at peak load. it's probably more along the lines of <50w for the card. They say 400 based on the card, assuming the buyer has a rig that matches the performance the card will give.

So my rig with the 4830 will be fine on 300w then, right?

It's a dell PSU. 300w - 18 amps on the +12. Knowing Dell's OEM stuff, it's probably in the 265, 270 watt range.

tsk, tsk Foothead. You gotta read the thread, lol. That was why I said to just get a low power GPU now to hold him over for 3 or so months. No sense in buying a GPU that will cost more, and barely fit under the load regulations.
