Default need help overclocking my processor

i have a pentium 4 3.0ghz processor, and was wondering if it is possible to overclock it, even just a bit? i called dell and they said it was not possible because it would get to hot. maybe they just want me to buy a new one so i dont believe them. can anyone tell me if this is a bad idea. i only wanna overclock it by 10 percent.
