Right i downloaded it then went to install it and it said update-driver-for plugand play devices ,then below has red x with the numbers -536870397.

That red X is because the driver isn't installed yet in the Device Manager

Is the file you downloaded an EXE file that will just update by double clicking it? Or is it an 'inf' file that will require you doing some manual work?

If its an EXE, just run it and let it do its job.

If it is an 'inf' file, then go to uninstall the driver it has on it now, and then go to Add/Remove Hardware.

Let it scan, and it'll find it. Say you know where it is, and you want to search for it. So press browse and click the file you downloaded. Follow the instructions and hopefully it'll install, and will then just require a restart
