need help with motherboard please

i did something stupid, a couple days ago i bought an ASUS P5N32E-sli motherboard off of a guy, he had it hooked up and everyhting on the board booted all lights fans everyhting ran, but sometimes it would not boot to splash other times it would but would then freeze, he told me his card was bad but its all he had i figured everything powerd ok so the board must be good maybe hes telling the truth, well i get it home hook all of my stuff into the board that i KNOW works fine, and still the same problem it turns on, sometimes just a black screen othertimes it boots for 10-30 seconds then just freezes, whats going on? is the MB shot? thanks

I think he just conned you, two possible options to try is reset the bios to default or re-flash the bios with the latest bios from the the boards manufacturer.

i was thinking about reflashing it, but is it possible with it freezing 10-20 seconds after boot?

If it lets you in bios Yes, you have nothing to lose but a dud board.
