For your headphones, there should be a green "line in" plug. And for your mic, use "mic in" or just use the plugs on the front of your case.

What I am trying to do is hook up the plugs on the front of the case to the motherboard.

I have that motherboard, and I have an Antec 900 case. I couldn't figure it out, but much prefer to use the connections at the back of the sound card, and so don't even have the top front ones connected up.
I've heard it causes loss in audio quality anyway

How many plugs does your case have? Does it have seperate plugs for Line in (or out) and headphones?

Well guys never mind. I got home from the office and got the computer out of the truck and dropped it....:-( To my surprise everything is fine except the case so there is no need to hook up the audio plugs since I will be ordering a new one. I am just surprised that the big CPU cooler didn't damage the board when I dropped it.
